London, Den Haag, New York, San Francisco, November 1998

Utter insanity. Rosanne goes to four cities in eleven days. Oh well, it could have been worse: at one point the suggestion was to go to London for two days, turn around and come back. It's a 23 hour flight goddamn it!!! I spent two days in each city, one day doing work and one day having fun.

I first went to London, then from there to Holland, landing at Schiphol Airport. I had been to Holland briefly as a teenager on my way through to Paris, and had really only seen Amsterdam. It had been a wild city, my memories of it as a night place with canals and the red light district, with women in the windows, price tags for services rendered and images of women going down on horses in magazine racks. I had little idea what Den Haag would be like, but had romantic ideas of this place as the heart of international justice. Thankfully, Den Haag was mind-blowing and magical.

From Den Haag to New York and then across country to San Francisco...

San Fran was slightly different: that was just to see my good friend Rach who has moved there. And what a fabulous city it is: especially the Mission District where Rachel lives. Mmmm, Latina and Afro-american dykes dirty dancing in bars that serve the best tequila in the world. What more can you ask for, really? Those women can really move.
